Made a brave save at the end of the first half yesterday diving at the feet of the attacking player. Could have been hurt but no hesitation.

Thought that was a funny moment. Palace player claiming he took it out of the area and Ederson just gestured as if to say, "Does this look out to you sunshine?"

Didn’t we have the least amount of shots on our goal last season and the highest rate of goals per shot? It did seem like every time a team had a shot on goal last season, it went in. Ederson improves our defence with his sweeper keeping. Haven’t seen him being tested yet, hopefully that doesn’t start against Chelsea.

He seems to be good at the same things as Joe Hart. He's great and anticipating and coming out the close the angle down, his command of the area, and his positioning and ability to make himself big are good too. That latter one seems impossible for Claudio Bravo. The number of goals conceded with shots that are really close to his body is insane. Bravo's quite good at saving things a few metres away from him, but blast it right next to it and he crumples into a heap and lets it through, or get it right in the corner and he's too short to get a hand to it. As you say, Ederson hasn't really been tested, but from what I've seen, he's as good as Joe Hart in one-on-one situations, which is good, because that's one of the best things about Hart's game.

At one point in the match, Ederson came out of the box to punch at the ball - didn't look impressive - didn't see him jump and massively strike the ball with his hands.

And yet, the damn ball flew 30+ yards up field - a huge punch clearance.

I can't tell you enough how I was impressed by this play.

The guy looks to be in complete command of his box.

Contender for MOTM tonight? Made 1 brilliant save, and saved (no pun intended) himself the bother of making 3 or 4 more by being off his line ridiculously quickly, plus the throw out to Sané for the penalty was sublime. Stayed big for a few 1v1's too.

Love him more every week.
