Looked at his twitter and he has renewed at Benfica so as you were

Never means much for Portugese teams except for a higher fee.

Most of the Benfica fans I've seen post on the internet seem like they're resigned to losing him to us, they always heap tons of praise on him too so that's good I guess.

Anyone know anything about him as a goalkeeper? His dodgy facial hair is no great recommendation.

Very quick off his line and good in one on ones, a bit like Joe, but excellent distribution, very quick to try and get counters started. Not seen him have to do too much battling in the air but he's generally pretty decisive when he decides to come for things. He's been excellent tbh and by all accounts it does seem as though Benfica are budgeting for him to be sold in the summer, so he's probably going somewhere

Not seen that much of Rulli but from I have seen he's incredibly quick and agile, but prone to some shockers.

what a long pass. this type of passing that can cause panic on opponent's defense.
especially now when City have 3 speedsters upfront.
he send the ball right to the foot, not hoof the ball looking for player's head.
and not just a short tippy tappy pass between goalkeeper and back 4.
high risk playing style which can always lead to an embarrassing error.

It's worth pointing out that while these passes are incredible - that's not the distribution Pep is looking for. It's the short passing and interplay between the centre backs while getting pressed aggressively that we need.

Although from what I've heard, Ederson has that to his game at as well.

That is how Pep plays, no matter what keeper we get, he's going to do the "short tippy tappy passing"
