What are Moraes stats for previous years, similar to this season ?

 

This is his first-year as a starter. He was behind Julio Cesar last season. Benched the legend this year. And seems to be having a purple patch season. And if this is not a purple patch, then we are frankly watching the beginning of what will become one of the best Goalies of this generation.

He was averaging around the same in the champions league (2.75) last season as he is this (2.3). It's a meaningless stat without context as to quality of shots/chances though - Buffon is averaging 5.5 this season in the CL which looks ridiculous if you haven't watched any Juve games - most teams get frustrated up against their defence and hit shots from range that are far simpler to save. Neuer is averaging 4 but has saved a far higher number of chances that you'd expect to see converted - 4 this week as opposed to 1 for Buffon.

Could be him, he is everywhere, and all over everything (and I mean that in a complimentary way)

 

Its a meaningless stat in the champs league because there are so few games. Its like buying who is the best scorer after the first 8 games of the season. You can expect a regression to the mean after a whole season of games.
