I think it's the visa issues. It seems England's are much stricter than other european countries. I would like to see us do what we can to cut out the middlemen. Maybe we could buy them and loan them out to clubs and that way they would be able to get a visa the following year. When I see a player like Marquinhos go for €35m after playing only 26 games in Seria A, I feel like we are really missing the boat.
It's specific footballing permit laws relating to the 1999 Home Office amendment. Supposed to stop the foreign influx into the Premiership, fat lot of good it did.

Buying up young players and loaning them out is very troublesome and expensive, means we can't look after them in our own academies and with no guarantees that they'll ever get the required number of international caps to come to England. Chelsea had to loan Alex out to PSV for three years before he was granted a work permit.

Rules need to be abolished, particularly with FFP coming in.

Is this also the issue with their Belgian GK? He's been at Atletico Madrid for the past 3 years.
Yes, they have Petr Cech.

I think its more to do with him getting experience and that Chelsea know how good he'll be, but they still have Cech.

Courtais(sp?) has been at atletico cause there's no point in him sitting on the bench at Chelsea behind cech. He's way too good to be doing that so that's why he's at atletico

Just seen a reporter from SSN, has tweeted about us possibly going in for him now. Not sure how true just thought id pass it on.

Also notice that he is another left footed centre back, probably playing on the left side. So i think this is a none start as we wouldnt want to hurt Rekik and Nastasic's chances surely ?? unless he can play right sided ??

Perfect, from what i have seen he is very left footed but looks a quality player already !

if we think we are going to build a world class team on the cheap there we are deluded. Look at the last 5 cl winners each one has spent big. All I believe have a record purchase higher than ourselves. The "oh shit" attitude belongs in the past with the Lee Bradbury age. We bought Nasty and Rodders last year, Jovetic and Mangala would be continuing that, but until we have our scouting network sorted out, we will have to spend good money on prospective world class players. Where do we want to be? Also ran's, or at the top because despite the hype even Barcelona spend big each year, a £100 million in a season is nothing new to the top teams and as we were £30 million up already, I would say we still have at least £35 million to play with, before we reach that net spend.
