Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Not had a meaningful update on here for a while. Anyone got any insider knowledge?

I am going for a breakfast seminar where Marty alderman is the key speaker next week. I am going to ask him direct when is it happening and what are the transport plans.

Foo Fighters playing next June. One date announced by they'll probably do at least one more.
So no expansion next summer.
Not necessarily. The South stand is much bigger now, so the stage could be moved forward allowing building work behind it.

I had it confirmed to me during the summer by a friend who works for a structural engineering specialist that the exiting roof if f**ked and will have to be replaced within 4 or 5 years or the Stadium may fail to get it's safety certificate going forward. It was cheaply constructed and it is leaking badly.
They are not going to fix drips unless they turn into torrents - replacing the roof ASAPP is the goal.

I don't often approach the ground from the south side but walking back from the academy stadium recently and going over the white bridge I noticed that the Tae Kwon Do (spl?) HQ building had been removed and the site cleared.

I'm pretty fairly sure the building was still there last time I crossed the bridge, but that might have been over a year ago.

Do we own that site and, if so, do we know how it fits into our longer term plans ?

If true, might as well extend the other 3 sides of the ground at the same time, rather than having to redo the roof twice, increasing the capacity to 90k in the near term including a single tiered safe standing behemoth behind the goal.

If anyone on here knows the Sheik, just let him know my thoughts.

I'll forego my usual consultancy fees for this advice, but I will accept a lifetimes family season ticket in the tunnel club if the club wants to thank me.

The money tap is being turned down, somewhat, that goes for New York City too.

Will have a knock-on effect in terms of where we do invest these next couple of years.
If we are to become the best team in the world. This will drive demand to see it. You need to put the infrastructure in place to grow the club and the brand.
You can obtain external investors to obtain the money if you don't want to yourself.

Was expecting this after the poor car sales figures and the uncertainty of oil production regarding the plans of many car manufacturers to give advance notice of their intentions to produce just electric cars in the not too distant future.
Probably oil used much more in other sectors but its bound to have an impact.
