Just been announced that the competition will be staged in cities across Europe, and not one Country!!!

Football's 2020 European Championship tournament will be held in a number of cities across the continent, Uefa has announced.

It means there will be no one country hosting the tournament.

The Football Association has already put forward Wembley to European governing body Uefa as a possible venue for the final.

Uefa's executive committee took the decision at a meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Thursday.

Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland have also expressed their interest to Uefa in staging matches.

Uefa general secretary Gianni Infantino told a press conference after the meeting: "Some important decisions have been taken.

"Uefa Euro 2020 will be staged across the continent, in various major cities, following a decision taken today. A Euro for Europe follows an initial idea by Uefa president Michel Platini.

"The response has been extremely positive from all the national associations."

He added the bidding process for the host cities would start in March and decisions would be made in the spring of 2014.

Supporters at the front of UEFA's thoughts again.

Kev, did you really expect anything else?

The thing is rick, football and spectacle wise, this sounds like a really good idea as long as it's fair. Imagine knowing that if you beat France in Milan, you'll play Germany at the Nou Camp. It's great for the rich and the sponsors and shite for us peasants as usual.

Un-be-fucking-lieveable.

Basically this is pandering to the sponsors and the tv companies and purely NOT aimed at the supporters.

England play France in Amsterdam, all well and good, but the next game might be in Madrid meaning a long trek across Europe with maybe a game in Milan after that...

All in one tournament.

Bunch of fucking arse.

So no atmosphere at any games then as fans from both teams cannot make it, one bonus maybe the frigging England band might end up in a horrific pile up somewhere in Europe.

I bet the presenters of the BBC and ITV football will be rubbing their hands 5 star hotels around Europe, personally this should be we're the BBC say that you can't present the show from the UK absolutely no need for them to be in the host country.
