Thats the thing it is there to assist from the angles the ref cannot see, so if that angle shows no issue the refs decission on the pitch isn't challenged.
Tha angle shown after the match showed a perfectly good goal so VAR worked because it confirmed the refs dicission, if thegoal had been given and the replay shown a handball then there would be reason to slag it off.

Anything that improves the HONEST AND OBJECTIVE outcome of the game, such that the PLAYERS ACTIONS decide the game, not poor decisions, is, IMHO, an improvement to what we currently have.
We have refs and even linesmen that can’t even keep up with the game, and 20 camera angles in super slo mo for almost every action on the field. Long past time we used it. Also, while we are at it, we NEED a countdown clock that is stopped when the ref stops play, instead of the bullshit we have now, where one ref gives 6 minutes injury time for the same game as another one would give 3 minutes! So many games being decided in the last few minutes, that the refs wristwatch is a RIDICULOUS way to keep track of the football on view.
In addition, EVERYONE should be aware what is and is not being added on for, because half the time no one seems to know what is and is not being used to add time on!
