As soon as you enter into the period of full consultation with people like this it is usually just going through the motions, the decision has already been made.
All they will do after each meeting is tick a box & move onto the next stage of consultation until they reach the end of the process.
The only way to way is to refuse permission,best to get a very good lawyer involved because the people you think are helping you are doing the opposite by error or knowledge.

The charity Commission has to approve this..... if they say 'NO', the council or FCUM can do nothing about it. The Charity Commission booted out Oldham's bid in Failsworth recently on similar grounds that it could do in Moston - ie the ground is covenented and cannot be built on in that way.
