FC United Thread

FC United are due to play Tamworth FC at Broadhurst Park on Saturday 23rd September with a 3pm kick off with Manchester City playing crystal Palace at home on the same day.

FC United are in talks with Manchester City Council to allow us to lift certain restrictions around playing on the same day as Manchester City are at home and we still hope to be able to get the necessary paperwork completed in time for the Tamworth FC match. However, as the match is now only one month away we have spoken to Tamworth to agree a contingency date should it not be possible to play our fixture on the Saturday.

The club are mindful of a past supporter survey which stated that Fridays was the preferred option should a weekend match have to be moved. However, the emphasis in such circumstances is to agree a date that is also the most convenient for the away side and their supporters and Tamworth have requested a Sunday fixture if we cannot play on the Saturday.

We understand the frustration that many of you will feel with us not yet being in a position to confirm the date of the match and we assure you that as soon as details are confirmed we will make a further announcement but supporters should be mindful that the match could be played on either Saturday 23rd September or Sunday 24th September.

We are grateful to Tamworth FC and supporters of both sides for your understanding.

They've been looking at changing this for a few years now essentially because if they play at home at the same time as us they can still tap into the rag support that don't travel. Nothing more than that. The sooner they go bust the better. Turncoat tossers.

One point missed is when they were in the process of getting approval for Pallet Park, they agreed that they would not play on the same day as City.
They agreed to a lot of things like having x amount of traffic Marshalls to prevent parking in side streets and blocking locals in etc etc.
One by one these have been reneged on. Now they want to play on the same day as City. Traffic on Lightbowne Road is heavy when City play as it is.

Their intention clearly was to agree to anything put to them in order to get the ground approval and then one by one appeal against it.....
If the council agree to it, once again they are shitting on the people of Moston.

One of the very few grounds I still need to visit in the North West - please let them go bust so I don't have to go.
