I don't agree. It's not as simple as that anymore. It's only a sending off if its a blatant effort to stop the man without playing the ball. Last night was a clash of legs nothing like a deliberate attempt to stop a goal scoring opportunity.
No point having video referees if they don't know the rules or don't understand the game.

He didn't make a 'legitimate attempt to play the ball' though, accident or no accident

Howard Webb described incidents like that as as if it was a car crash - the man behind has the responsibility to avoid the collision

Many countries have systems in place that are designed to produce young players for the benefit of the national team. In such countries the clubs work together for the national good, and not their own personal and financial gains.
