Did well for us in his short spell at the club, and always came across as a nice bloke.

Had a brilliant career at Chelsea, and was one of the best players of his generation. Wonder if he'll turn to coaching or punditry?

An absolute poster child for football.

Always came across as a genuine guy and was a model professional.

He'll go on to be a great pundit or coach no doubt.

Great career, he must be one of the best goal-scoring midfielders ever. I like him as a pundit, but hopefully he goes into coaching.

Respected him at Chelsea, but actually came to really like him during his short stay here.

One of the best midfielders of the Premier League era, would have been great to get him before he was 37 or whatever it was.

After watching his old club get tore apart again by City's young, dynamic trio, he realises it's a young man's game, better to go out at the top!

Would love to see him in a coaching role at City, a model pro.
