Exactly, 14 goals from the wing was a good return, compared to the two seasons before where our top scorers were Elano(8 goals in 07/08) and Barton(6 goals in 06/07)..Shows you just what a prolific team he was coming into, how dare he not score at least 25 with the talent he had surrounding him.

Not to burst your bubble, but according to whoscored and transfermarkt he only played 7 games on the left wing (5 goals), the other 31 games he was a centreforward and scored 11 goals.

He's also had 1 assist and 1 goal in his last 10 games.

Doesn't mean anything, but it could suggest he's best settled at LW.

I'm on about Robinho aha

It's silly to already mark him down as potentially being like Robinho. He's a 19 year old kid who has shown that when you throw him in at the deep end he flourishes. He impressed so much in the Olympics that he's given a full national team debut and he's excelled at that level too. He's got so much pace, great trickery and he's also got a lot of fight in him.

He's coming to a league where he's going to get kicked the shit out of and little protection. His biggest test will be learning when to play those neat flicks and when to keep it simple. He seems to have a great awareness and range of passing and covers so much ground up and down the pitch. If he reacts to bad challenges, or goes down easily he'll need to learn he's going to get sent off or booked for diving. Pep's biggest role with the lad is to make him aware of this, get his mentality right and then he'll excel. He needs to be given the freedom to just go out and play and he'll be an incredible player for us. I'd only use him at home where he'll get some protection from referees (more so than away). In Europe he'll be a real asset.
