Hoping for an interesting independent candidate who's pro-Indy for non-patriotic reasons, pro-EU, liberal, down to earth, competent and earnest.

So probably SNP.

Fucking hell, finally a leftie that understands Brexit is the best option for him.

I completely disagree with you on domestic policies and will be voting Tory but you should give yourself a pat on the back for being the only left-winger, other than Corbyn, to see that Brexit is how he gets his left wing society.

Why can't the rest of your persuasion see that under a globalised capatalist union, such as the EU, you cannot get socialism in the UK?

I don't know. True left wingers (peter shore, tony benn, George Galloway and several others) get it and wanted out.

The people I call 'didsbury socialists' want to remain. They call themselves 'Lefties' because they tip their Romanian waitress in Starbucks but get in their 50k car to drive to their 250k home to then say hello to their £3/hour au pair (from the EU naturally) and at dinner parties rant and rave about how 'the poor' have the audacity to vote leave , calling them 'ignorant' and 'xenophobic' (they're too nice to call them racist but the clear inference is there Alright) failing to realise that it is their fault for denying people a voice for 40 years.

At least after Brexit me and you can have a chance to vote for our preferred style of government policy without the politicians (of all stripes) blaming their failures on "the EU, innit".

Vive the future.

Truly excellent post and something I tried for a year to drum into my "socialist" ex-housemate (I didn't move out because of this haha). He's on £60k+ a year, drives a brand new merc and goes away 3 times a year, yet will call poor people who voted leave thick and thinks because he gives loose change to tramps, he's some sort of hero.

Exactly we all have a chance now and your chance of getting socialism has increased drastically since last summer and should Britain vote for that, I shall not complain one bit.
