Not even the Tories would be dumb enough to let May lead them in another election campaign. No idea who will be Tory leader but May would be suicide.

To achieve a majority and actually be able to govern properly.

I don' partake in our flawed system anymore. The last party I voted for was the lib dems when they went into coalition with the Tories.

Two sides arguing like football fans isn' constructive. We don' have decent threads on politics but they do show why things don' get done in this country

There is a lot of truth in that with politicians like posters on these type of threads spending seemingly their entire time trying to find differences rather than common ground.

They tried that and failed badly. The moment has gone. They need some good news before even considering doing it again. That scenario is a long way off.

Go on then - explain why builders are building houses that people don't want to buy. Or is it that there is demand but no-one can afford to buy unless prices drop?

Cornwall - 60000 extra households in next 20 years. 18000 affordable homes needed now.

Somerset - 8000 applications for social housing. Only 2000 houses built each year, most private.

Swindon and Wiltshire - 3000 new households each year for next 20 years.

What's your interest in keeping house prices high?

They're not spending anything. It's all loans. You're surely not suggesting that the Tories should use public money to fund private enterprise, are you?

In any case all Help to Buy does is inflate prices. And who needs help so they can buy properties costing half a million quid?
