Another nail in the coffin of the once beautiful game. The 'great' thing about the world cup format at present is that it encourages caution to the point of tedium. Now there will no end of boring matches before Germany beat Spain on penalties in the final after the 120 mins 0-0.

I think 3 groups of 16 would be far better ...... a proper League World Cup .... home & away games ...... any 0-0 final scores result in a re-play in a neutral country .... play-offs & relegation battles ..... half 'n half scarves up the ying-yang .... oh yeah - the opportunities are endless !!
