Happy St George's Day

Our Queen's German, our Patron Saint is Turkish/Palestinian/Roman, our favourite food is Indian, and our most celebrated Monarch was French. Blessed is this Great Isle and all who dwell within her.

In seriousness people should look up how St George became the Patron Saint and especially the reports of his ghost leading the charge during the Crusades. It's pretty inspiring stuff. Nonsense obviously, but inspiring.
Born in Syria to Greek parents so really, nobody should be able to call his flag or day racist.

We've had plenty saints on these isles, dunno why we chose someone who never set foot here (well wasn't it one of our Kings adopted his standard?).

Who is the most celebrated Monarch you speak of? William the Conkeror? He used vinegar the cheat.

I'd have to say James I of England - only Monarch to unite our island into one kingdom. Did it just by being alive, didn't break a sweat.
