Villa finished 6th last season and made one cup final and one semi final. Houllier might well be relegating them if their poor form continues. 1-0 down at home to Wolves as I type. What a shit job he's done.

Are we going to see one of the ever present Premiership sides finally fall from grace? Never quite understood why O'Neill wasn't given a fair whack of dollar from the Milner sale yet they then allow Houllier to spend big money on Darren Bent.

Didn't O'Neill quit before the Milner sale? I don't think he was sacked was he?

I didn't say O'Neill was sacked. He walked out a few days before the season began because of an alleged disagreement regarding how much he'd get to spend should the Milner deal go through.

True. They opened the bank for Houllier, though. I imagine it was more complicated than we know.

There was criticism of some excessive fees / wages for players O'Neill didn't really use. Reo-Coker, Cuellar etc.

I'd stick my neck out and say they'd be top 10 if he was still there.

No doubt. He's a good manager.
