Hughes Tatics today

The subs confused me a bit, especially as they were like-for-like.

I said at the time when Ned went off, he should have brought on Sturridge and dropped Kompany back to centre back, with Elano in a more defensive role and play both Studge and Caicedo up top.

But at least this game, he did bring on subs to try and make an impact. So many times he has only used the one sub, even as the game is slipping away.

How can people be pleased watching 90mins of pure shite?
You are writing like a rag. We dominated spells in the second hlf with Dunne and Kompany stroking the ball around in the style of Doyle and Watson. Their second goal was completely against the run of play. If SWP in particular had been more alert, we could have made more chances. He badly needs a rest. Also, Hughes probably would have replaced Ball with Garrido had it not been for Nedum's injury.
Once Elano was taken off, we raised our game significantly. He should be used only in Home games against teams which sit back and let us play. Against hard running and tough tackling sides, he just gives the ball away too easily.

Exactly.

It was quite clear what tactics fat head would be using.........dont give them any room and kick Robinho out of the game.........

Hughes tactics were shit. Absolutely fucking shit.

Robinho should have been told to swap positions non-stop. Elano should NOT ever be allowed to take a freekick again in his life. The front two should have been told to hold-up the ball and wait for support rather than try that 1-2 crap. Garrido should have been playing instead of Ball. Hart should not have been playing long balls. SWP needs to stay on the wing for the full game, his first touch is so dire that he cannot effectively play the AM role. He also likes to pointlessly run into people and lose the ball. No doubt i'll get slated for this because we all love SWP, but im not going to call an apple an orange.

Fair enough we should have been given at least one of the clear-cut penalty decisions, and we did scrape a draw in the end, but you must be fucking stupid to come on here and say Hughes tactics got us A point from the BOTTOM team in the league and be happy with it.

For fuck sake.

PS - Kompany is a CB. Onouha should have played RB, Kompany CB and Zabaleta DM. Quite simple really.

So you criticise Hughes for playing players out of position, yet here you are with your "simple" solution, playing two players out of position.

The truth is that Zabaleta is a far better right back than Onuoha, and Kompany is a far better DM than Zabaleta. Onuoha is a centre back. So that's what the manager went with.

Which two players out of position you jibber jabbering on about?

Zabaleta has played DM before and Kompany IS a CB. Onouha has also played RB before and looked good bursting down the right wing.

Richards as CF..............you think Hughes is the right man for the job?

Zabaleta is a right back. Thats his bread and butter.
Onuoha is a centre back, not a RB. He's fairly shit going forward tbf. West Ham game aside.
Kompany is a centre back who is genuinely very good DM

Richards won the header that ultimately led to Sturridge receiving the ball on the right for the equaliser.

Armchair managers kill me.

The armchair cocksuckers on here are starting to annoy me severely, this was a hardfought valuable Away point .
You won't see any teams go to Ewood this season and stroke it about at their leisure ,playing champagne football and come away with 3 pts, aint gonna happen.

For the record we showed desire, character and commitment to come away with a well deserved draw.

spot on fella!
agreed.

It works on FM, let them think that they're actually better managers than the real life ones.

Its far too easy to start branding everyone an 'armchair manager' and Football manager manager etc etc, but Hughes's mistakes are all plain to see and everyone see's them.

Watching City manage City is like 'spot the fuck up'. Iv'e spotted it!!!!.........It's Hughes!

I'm still anti-Hughes, the 5-1 and 2-2 against bottom of the league haven't changed it totally, but to say he made mistakes in his substitutions yesterday is foolish, they worked, and we went home with a point and two goals, rather than the 2-0 that looked likely.
