Important musical moments......

With the possible exception of The Beatles touching down in the USA for the first time and virtually single-handedly lifting America out of its post JFK assassination induced despair, it's hard to think of a more significant moment in musical history than that which happened 40 years ago tomorrow.
The Sex Pistols television debut on Granada's "So it goes". Forget the fat butter salesman, back then he turned the world upside down

Was that the swearing interview? It was an organised pr stunt.

But really, this...

The Pistols on Granada caused uproar behind the set as Jordan, who dances with the band, was wearing a swastika arm band.
Granada's top boss was Jewish and he freaked out when told and Wilson was told to tell McLaren that she couldn't wear it but Jordan and the band refused to budge.
In the end, a compromise was reached where she could wear the armband - but it had to have the tape over the sign.
Towards the end of the song you can see the tape coming off.
