Investing in art. Pension ideas?

Was in a local gallery the other day and they had some Bob Dylan paintings in there. I must say I was mightily impressed by them. They ranged from £1500 up to £5k. The lady in the shop said they'd already gone up over 50% since launch and that a guy came in the other week and invested £20k in Dylan's paintings alone!

Seems to me that buying one or two of these nice paintings will make very god economic sense in light of the credit crunch and piss poor pension returns in the UK. Imagine how much they'd go for when Dylan pops it?

they're all sold out on that website! Told you it was a top idea! Looks like on that I've missed out on too. :(
