    Ivan Mauger former Belle Vue Aces rider has passed away age 78,he was recently battling dementia.had great times in the 60s and 70s going to watch the Aces straight from Maine Rd.R.I.P

    Same here, this is very sad, a great racer and decent bloke by all accounts.

    A legend and part of the all conquering (at the time ) Aces, along with Peter Collins.

    Wow, me and my mate used to go and watch him ride when the Aces were the best team around.
    Many times we would jump over the boards and grab his, Pete Collins and Soren Sjosten tearaways from their goggles.

    What a team we had back then.

    Never saw him but he was 'the name' in the press when Belle View was mentioned when I was a kid.

    One of our childhood hero's gone.
