That's a nice little interview with Mercer there ......
says he never had even one single row with Big Mal , that must have took some doing as Mal was pushing for the managerial limelight.
Also reckons he signed Colin Bell on Malcomns say so ... they both went to watch him for Bury , Bell had a poor game , and Mercer reckoned he couldn't play football !
Luckily Big Mal talked him into signing him anyway , and Mercer says it was one of the best things he ever did ....... and when you look at Bell on this video you can clearly see why!
