Juventus accuse UEFA of anti-Italy agenda

Oliver did nothing in the previous 90 minutes to indicate he had anything against Juventus,if he was trying to cheat them he had done a very poor job till then

if Madrid lose the semi by a dodgy given penalty should they then scream corruption ?

cant we accept Refs sometimes just get it wrong because it's f*cking impossible with 22 blokes cheating at rapid speed and the sooner VAR gets implemented the better

Would Atkinson get the Young foul on Sergio 'wrong' at the other end, and would he get it wrong anywhere else on the pitch? He wasn't gonna give us a pen whatever foul was perpetrated. That's not getting it wrong; it's 'selective application of the Laws of the Game'! In Boggart Hole Clough it's called 'fucking cheating! And the obvious question is whether The Bottler would be as quick to point to the spot if Smalling ran through the back of Sterling in the 94th minute of a Manchester-Stretford derby! We can be as sympathetic as we can for referees who are out of their depth attempting to apply the Laws of the Game in one of the fastest sports on the planet, played by some of the most inveterate cheats the game has known, but some decisions where speed is not a characteristic can be filed in the category of 'Highly Suspicious!'

Simple give a coach 3 challenges a game. Let him decide what's revisited. The the coaches challenge is correct he keeps it. If not one challenge gone.
This way coaches can challenge what's important to them.

I have the say that's a great idea to copy the NFL 3 challenges per game for coaches for VAR. Getting it wrong, resulting in a loss of a challenge should also prevent abuse of this method.

Also puts more emphasis on getting important decisions reviewed in favour of a team's interests, rather than a ref's one which always seems to be rather subjective. This may not eliminate the issue entirely, but at least narrows it down to incidents which may cause the greatest impact on game which currently go unnoticed & unpunished.

It may also create some more jobs in the game by club teams hiring specialists to spot controversial incidents in real time & nudge the manager for a VAR challenge to the fourth official.

Yeah, no corruption.

Just a coincidence that EVERY decision went in the dippers favour over the 2 legs. Just a coincidence that Pep was sent to the stands for doing what Klopp does every week. Just a coincidence that Atkinson thought that was a penalty last night days after not giving one for the potential leg-breaker on Aguero.

Get stuffed

Must be bad if Juv players say they paid Oliver, Gill giving English refs a gig for favours in the league....

We get challenges like this against us week in week out in the premier league so why is he calling a foul and penalty in this game?

It was a penalty that could be given, but it could also not be given. We see these kind of challenges every week not resulting in penalties. You just don't give a penalty like that in thr 93rd minute, effectively gifting the semi final to Real. It has to be much more clear to justify absolute consequences like that. It stinks.

The only conclusion i can draw from that clip is that Oliver could not have seen who the ball came off. If he has decided its a pen for the charge from behind then that is a very tough call otherwise he must have had assistance either from the linesman (Assistant Ref) or the 5th official on the goal line. I hope to god it wasn't the 5th official's advice given who it was (Martin "Young did not assault Sergio' Atkinson)
