Got a Dell laptop over a year ago, and this week the screen has started going black within about 5 minutes of it booting up. The battery's fine, and there are still lights on suggesting the hard drive is still running. Tried connecting it to the monitor on my main PC and the same thing happens. Anyone know what's causing it? It's no longer under warranty.

could be your inverter,which controls the contrast on your screen,not a big job mate,should'nt cost you any more than 40 quid
