A great, in-depth (but very long) article on how our tactics changed last season and how the players adapted to the positional play system.
It really highlights the importance of having full backs who are comfortable on the ball, as well as centre backs who are positionally aware at all times. It also shows how important Gundogan was for us when he was fit, and how Aguero evolved as the season progressed.
It also touches on the importance of not just who the ball is passed to but how it is passed and into what side/space. Same with the body position of players looking to receive the ball.
Silva and De Bruyne remain the most important players for their intelligent movement and passing; with Bernando Silva signing hopefully he will provide an excellent back-up option for those two.
If Sanchez signs, can he play in that position also?
