Lol... he's carrying a knock, he'd also start 7days a week over Sterling and I'm one of his biggest fans...

All dependant on what position. Sane is nowhere near good enough to play in the inside position, Sterling's movement is much better in the middle.

Because sterling actually fits into the 2 up top role better than sane ever would if that is the formation pep plans on using and there's already better wing-backs than him in the team.

Im so excited for him to play as an inverted winger this season. We will have Mendy/Walker/Danilo providing width and crossing which is going to open up so much space for Sane. Can see him banging in 15 this season easily.

Ask yourself 'when, and it is when, a new attacker is brought in, how often will sterling be required to play 'inside'......

This notion of wingback is flawed, nobody, and I mean nobody is able to ascertain if sane can play it as he's had stevie wonder and stephen Hawkin behind him most of the season..

Anyway, you want him in a traditional spot, which he'll command hands down!!

Playing him at wing back is an absolute disaster, it's going to stunt his development. Hopefully it's nothing more than a short term fix.

this man is a bull. would hate to guard him... but yes, we need to go to a 4-3-3 for games like this. most of the epl has already been trained to sit back against us. 3-5-2 is a great option but it isn't make the most of what we have. A fully fit kompany and some balling ass wingers means we really should be playing four at the back. give sane and raheem life again. PLEASE

I'm not actually sure he is the right player for the way teams like Brighton will force us to play. He's not really world beater without space to run and we'll have many of games like this. I think he'll find himself on the bench many times this season and if Sanchez comes, he might get bit worried.

Sterling is much more lively than him in this setup.

Lost at LWB. It was almost as if the rest of the team didn't want to pass to him when he was in the middle of the park. When Aguero came off and Sane was closer to the final third he was able to get on the ball more and run at Brighton's back line to cause them some problems.

352 is a decent option for us, but doesn't suit Sane and hopefully when Mendy is fit we should see Leroy when he's able to run at the opposition defence willy-nilly.

LWB or not, he was played into some decent positions and fluffed them all.
'Mare of a substitution, hopefully he was rusty and will get that out of his system.

Dont like him in the wingback roll at all. He just looks like a penalty waiting to happen. Seems like every challenge he went into he conceded a free kick.

Not worried that he looked rusty going forward, a slow pre season and he has form for starting slow last year.
