Quick translation

The last hope of somehow saving an absolute horror season.

Bayern fire coach Louis van Gaal (59)! The final straw was the disappointing 1-1 draw in Nuremberg.

Van Gaal's successor, is existing assistant, the Dutchman Andries Jonker (48). He will haev Hermann Gerland (56) by his side.

The press statement said: "After the 1-1 on Saturday in Nuremberg, we do not risk slipping to fourth place int he table and the danger of not qualifying for the Uefa Champions League, this decision was taken in the best interests of FC Bayern. "

The decision was only yesterday evening. At 21.34, chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Uli Hoeness, Christian Nerlinger and Karl Hopfner met together at the Bayern offices on Säbener road.

It was to answer the question: How can these embarrassments be brought to an end with dignity? In the Cup semi-final against Schalke (0-1) out in the Champions League first knockout round against Inter Milan and possibly failing in the league (fourth place). The answer: Van Gaal has to go! After the crisis summit, the Dutchman was informed.

On Sunday, the Bayern bosses gather again at the Säbener road. Hoeness arrives at 10.36, immediately disappears in the power center. There also run the players in slowly, to become informed. For 12 clock, a press conference is scheduled. At the same time finds the first training place without van Gaal.

In early March, Bayern bosses decided to let van Gaal go in the summer. As a successor was presented a little later still-Leverkusen-Coach Jupp Heynckes (65). All in the hope that van Gaal the season leads to a successful conclusion. For now!

But it's not just the Dutchman to go. Also the previous goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek, van Gaal's video analyst Max Reekers and exercise physiologist Jos van Dijk are released. The goalkeeper training will take over Walter Junghans.

Jonker now has five games: he must achieve at least 3rd place (Champions League qualification). For the final in the premier class in 2012 in Munich.

But the situation is more than risky. Hannover moved yesterday (2-0 Mainz) past Bayern. They are now one point ahead of third place.

How hard a job the new coach has Jonker, which showed 1-1 yesterday in Nuremberg. The team played without spirit, goalkeeper Thomas Kraft slipped up and super star Arjen Robben saw red after the final whistle, the Dutchman will miss next few games for Bayern.

In the summer, a break is needed. Coach Jupp Heynckes is new, new players (Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng) will be required.

One thing is certain: This season is one Bayern want to forget quickly ..

at Bayern Munich.

Strange timing.

I think the timing is not too bad if he was leaving anyway (assuming they've got the new man lined up). Think they've given up on the league, are out of Europe and already looking towards next season. Gives the new manager time to look at what he's got and what he needs before the transfer window starts.

They have, someone who has managed there 3 or 4 times, think its the leverkusen manager.

strange timing? LOL

Have you seen them play this year/the league table?
Yes, but will it help them get qualification? You'd think they'd wait until the season ended.

Puts a bit of pressure on the likes of Houllier and Bruce.

If you were a discontented Sunderland fan you'd look at Bruce, then at O'Neil and Van Gaal and think it's time for a change

-- Sun Apr 10, 2011 12:03 pm --

Leverkusen have a good chance of the title though. About 6 points behind and closing in on Dortmund whose big lead has started to crumble

If Munich fail to make the champions league we should go all out for Schweinsteger just what this team need or even Thomas Muller. I could well see a number of that team move on if they miss out Robben , Ribery and Lahm would be on the hit lists of a number of teams across Europe.
