Lucas Hernandez

That price seems overly hefty, doesn't it? Haven't seen much of him, though, I'll admit.

Think it's his release clause he signed a new contract this month till 2022 has to have a steep release clause

Only 26 caps for Atletico.

This lad must be deemed the next Nesta if we are willing to pay €50m

Otamendi and mangala spring to mind, neither of them have proved worthwhile.
Isn't that a bit simplistic? It's like saying let's not buy Sanchez because Scott Sinclair was shit. We should stay away from Premier League attackers.

Also, if we are to use your logic, Alderweireld - rated by many as the best defender in our league - played for Atletico Madrid...

FWIW he extended not that long ago, so the price, while I still feel it to be high, isn't surprising.

His brother tends to get the plaudits more, but Lucas is a textbook Pep centre-back, much moreso than say VVD, and would be a good fit in the long term.

Cope is usually spot on with City isn't it? Or is it SER?

They had Otamendi to City way before anyone else had heard of anything.

Yep, COPE is 100% reliable for City.

Yeah, can see your point. Still rather have van dyke or Bonnuci.
