Manchester City are poised to make a move for Porto star Lucho Gonzalez. Midfielder Gonzalez, 28, was strongly linked with a switch to Marseille, but City boss Mark Hughes is preparing to make a late £15m offer to bring him to Eastlands.The Argentine international has a wealth of experience having won over 40 caps for his country and is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Portugal.
Gonzalez is keeping all his options open and his agent Federico Simonian admits that a move could materialise in the next few days.
Simonian said: "A Premier League club is interested in the player and we are dealing with the offer.
"We have spoken with the club and it is up to them to contact Porto and negotiate the transfer.
"The offer is almost irresistible because they have given me everything I have asked for."
