August 7 – Manchester City have launched a new free digital fan engagement platform that will personalise their interaction with the club and target fans with offers and information relative to their location and interests.
Designed as a mobile-first platform, the scheme is part of the ‘Cityzens’ fan initiative and integrates with the club website.
With account sign on through Facebook, Google+, Yahoo or via email, the platform is designed to increase the connect and share options including features that allow fans to meet and watch matches together using a localised ‘Community Map’ feature, share opinions, as well as access exclusive Club competitions.
Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive Officer for City Football Group, said: “Smart data will enable us to truly understand and react to the behaviours of our Cityzens. We will connect and engage with even more supporters than ever before in an authentic and meaningful way.
