Manchester City video news

Whenever I browse this site I am always listening to music in another window.
However when ever I click on a thread or a new page in the thread, the Manchester City video news starts to play with the volume up.
You have to manually stop this video on the thread.
Is there any way to permanently stop it from playing?

A lump hammer normally does the trick.
