Manchester United Trying To Poach 4 of Our Scouts

Despite how much stick and sometimes abuse the scouting department gets on here, the fact United are desperate to poach them seems to confirm that they aren't actually clueless.

I think it's less to do with their capabilities and more about who they work for. The arrogant bastards thought they'd done enough via ffp and having their pr dept rubbish everything we've done off the field. Meanwhile, City have just got on with it and put in place an infrastructure that will see us able to compete with anybody. The rags have finally woken up and their idea of putting things right again is to poach our staff. It's laughable. Instead of looking at the problem properly, they're trying to do it on the cheap again by poaching our staff and thinking this will magically make the problem go away.
It's great pr for them, and they do love a bit of that. In the long run it means nothing. Until they can match our facilities and the package we provide for academy players, which includes not just a fantastic football education, but a first rate academic one. They will continue to go backwards as far as youth players are concerned.
 
If we keep losing our scouting network, to those from the other side of Manchester, we will soon start to go backwards in this department. It is alright to say that we also provide a 1st class education, to go along with a 1st class training facilities but if the scouting network is not up to scratch it will all be useless. We need to keep our scouting network at all costs, if it means paying them a bit more money then so be it, lets do it.

I'm not worried about it. Do you honestly think our owners would spend so much money on the infrastructure and then employ two bob scouts? The rags are panicking because we haven't just stolen a march on them, but left them in a ditch with a hole in their shoe and a nail in their foot. They could have got scouts from elsewhere who are just as good. They targeted ours because it looks good for their PR. It's small time and typical of them and is just papering over the cracks.
 
To poach has been the very infra struckture of this club from day one, that's part of the History!!, only this time it looking like it's developing into a small time industry for them. They have a hell of a lot more work to do to even get on the shirt tails of our owners now. Good riddance rags.

I'm not so sure. This was supposed to be a root and branch review of their whole youth development and the best they can come up with is to poach a couple of scouts from their betters. If they expect this to transform their fortunes at the youth levels they are indeed clueless.

If they decide to build a state of the art campus backed by enormous expertise and a clear global strategy then I might bat an eyelid. Until then I shall continue to delight in us beating their youngsters with double digit scores and them complaining about our over zealous recruitment strategy and hints that they may refuse to play us in future.

In short. Fuck em.
