Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

He could be top scorer in the league, score the winning goal in every round of the CL, miss a chance in the final and they’d say “ see he can’t do it when it matters “

Eating breakfast that has to be the final straw straight on the transfer list

There was some shit in the MUEN with Neville saying Raheem should be looking to be at the same level as Ronaldo and Henry.
Talk about setting the lad up for a fall - media getting ready to continue slagging him off if he doesn’t score 40 next season.
I cannot fucking believe we haven't had an RIP Neville thread. If there is one being on earth who deserves not to be here, it's him. Absolute proof that there is no God.

The BBC live feed on Sunday twice posted comments from a troll about Sterling.

The first one in response to his goal said that it 'proved' he couldn't score from more that two yards out. It was a moronic comments that 'proves' absolutely nothing other than the poster was hacked off about the number of goals that Sterling had scored.

His second one was complaining that he kept 'getting away with diving' following the penalty. You will rarely see a more obvious penalty than that.

OK both were made by a nutter who is almost certainly a bitter Liverpool supporter. But why does this crap get quoted by the BBC?

Haven't read the article, but Raheem can reach the level he wants to be at. I don't think his favourable comparable stats with Ronaldo at the same age will faze him. Every time I see Raheem interviewed I see a guy who comes across as mentally very tough for his age, determined and resilient. Lesser characters would wilt under the merciless abuse and the relentless media analysis of his performance. Baby-faced and youthful looking - the sort of guy who will always look younger than his years, but he has teeth of steel. He knows the fans who abuse him are probably, at least in part, a bunch of pie eating, red and round-faced, unfit, sweaty, peg-toothed, loud mouthed louts who believe they're tactical experts - albeit they work at Poundland - in charge of biscuits.
