I think Sky were taken aback by Neville at first. They expected him to be a bit like everyone else but he wasn't and he became popular for it. That might have had something to do with the fact his first game for SkySports was when we tonked Swansea, so he couldn't hide his colours without shaming himself. So Sky probably just let him get on with it. You can see that's what they're going for with Carragher. It's also why Henry seems to come across more as a rag than an Arsenal fan.

But the ones who have been there a while tend not to be too independent in their thoughts and biases, which is why most of them were probably hired in the first place.

They have had years of practice hiring the commentators who are biased towards their potentially largest subscriber base. Antagonising that sector can have serious consequences as one of the newspapers found out in the disgusting aftermath of the Hillsborough tragedy.
Being apparently fair minded is a luxury they cannot afford because we as supporters are biased. Obviously the non aligned supporter is there to be educated rather than use his common sense so they skew their views of the news into what should be just news.

Yep, remember this well, 1st sign of what this shit , bent 'competition' is all about, packed it in after that season .

It's all about the TV companies.
Teams are paired up for matchdays, so City+Other English, must match all the other draws. It stops it being an open draw, but it's down to TV.

I've no idea what they'll do this year with potentially 6 British sides. At least BT assign to multiple channels now though, so they can show 2 live at a time, which they didn't one year.

Paul Wilson in today's Guardian

When Everton themselves went down to 10 men a couple of minutes before the end of normal time there was a vehement protest from Morgan Schneiderlin that Sergio Agüero had also given the impression he had been kicked when in fact he had not

For some reason he didn't mention that this was complete fantasy from Schneiderlin.

Wilson's an Everton fan. Say no more.

Phil chuckle says Sneidy just stepped between Sergio and the ball and hoofed it out of play and Sergio dived. So must be right then.

Unfortunately the media in this country, whether TV or the papers are only interseted in massaging the ego's of the the supposedly "Big Four" who now for various reasons ain't quite so big.

Arsenal seem content on balancing the books and aiming four fourth, whilst Liverpool flatter to under the saviour that is Jurgen Klopp.

Then there's the shower of shit from Stretford even though they have been mediocre since Baconface retired they still get top billing. Even if they found themselves playing in the second division that dabbing knob Pogba would still be plastered all over Sky and BT Sport billboards and TV adverts just to keep the brain dead masses interested in their product.

The truth is that no club is better run, better equipped and better placed than we are to succeed and the harsh truth is that jealousy has turned to hatred for our club. It chokes the ex-pro's who played for the likes of the scum and red dippers to accept what's before them and along with the media conspiracy they will try anything and everything to sling mud at us.

In time things will change, but until then we will have to put up green eyed cretins treating Benjamin Mendy being like Fred West cos he tweeted "Bullet Header" or people showing pictures from inside the ground an hour before kick under the heading Emptyhad, which the Red Tops are stupid enough to carry as articles highlighting them.

I know I've gone on a bit and I do apologise, but I'd just like to say to say to Robbie Savage, the younger uglier chuckle brother, Danny Higginbottom, the panel of imbeciles on Soccer Saturday and of course Martin Tyler if you've nothing positive or balanced to say about our great club, just keep it to yourselves or "Fuck Off"
