Good performance. I wouldn't say great but a clean sheet (only 2nd for the season ) and 4 goals can never be sniffed at.
The first half we dominated and Cahill scored typically from a header from a quality ball from Rose who in recent weeks has been exceptional. But for all the dominance we lacked a killer final ball.
The second half was better after Fitzgerald came on and upped the tempo and then Kamau also added further problems for the Jets. Fornaroli could have scored 5 but for a poor series of first touches. But overall it was a good win against a pretty poor Newcastle side.
Hopefully this is the beginning of our run and we can do what the ladies did and win the grand final after a poor middle of the season.

Watched it all. Thought you played really well. Just that final ball at times. Bit like us.
If Fornaroli had his shooting boots on and a bit more confidence, then it could have been a lot more.

Agree with that. Just reluctant to get too pumped because Newcastle were very poor.
Maybe things have finally turned.
Game tonight against Wanderers in Sydney 7:50pm local ko. Big game in the context of the top 6. A win will go a long way to securing a 3rd finish and give a home final in the first week of finals against 6th (most likely Wanderers).
Team selection with be interesting. Bouzanis is available after serving 5 weeks and it will be interesting to see if he replaces Sorensen which I personally hope doesn't happen. Also Jakobsen has been named in the squad and he hasn't played since early February and he is very important to our stability and experience at the back. Cahill is out international duty. Played 20mins last night and did nothing in a ugly game vs Iraq in Iran on a cow paddock which ended 1:1.
So basically a win is a must and we have been good value against the Wanderers in recent times so I'm hoping for a win. Anything less will definitely lead to a terrible weekend.
