Bulking up a bit has helped Ireland no end.

Micah was big and powerful on his debut.
 
Bulking up to much has left Micah grounded and slow.

Micah was big and powerful on his debut.

By all accounts Ireland did/is doing martial arts & running with weights as his major gym activities, these are perfect cardio and strength improving exercises and it shows as he's now got a near perfect physique and strength for a footballer. Richards if he is doing too much weights will end up too top heavy, slow and loose stamina and flexibility (hence why his jumping and sprinting is going to shit). He's looking more like a muscle guy and the majority of muscle guys normally have poor cardio conditioning.

Explosive power from your quads is needed for jumping, sprinting etc.

footballers arent supposed to be built like sprinters, they play for 90 minutes, they're supposed to be built like distance runners (this means lean mass not hitting the gym 5 hours a day and just doing upper body work to improve your GUNS)
 
Willow Flood wa built like a distance runner, it did him no good. It is a contact sport and most running is just short bursts. Centre backs don't cover much ground either.

How svelt is Dunne?

Maybe because it is incorrect Biff, and it is born out of jealousy?

Or maybe because he follows the work hard with conditioning ethic Keegan had ahead of his time and some people are still in the 70s.
