Micah Richards

You're both being very negative about Micah!

2011/2012, before his injury, he was exactly as you describe; solid in defence and up for the attack putting in some wonderful crosses!

Vinny, even now, is our CAPTAIN and not great at a forward pass (how many times have you seen the ball way over hit?!), but nobody seems to comment on that!!

Micah was a great fullback but he was nowhere close to being a Pep fullback. That would be Alaba or Lahm. technically good, fantastic on the ball, tactically aware and positionally flexible. No one's ever described Micah as any of those things.

He was a rampaging, fast, strong RB who would burst past defenders and could physically boss attackers at his best, but he was never great positionally, he was never positionally flexible and he was never great in possession.

Comparing Vinny's ability on the ball to Meeks is hilarious to be honest.

I'm sure Pep would have also loved his leaping salmon dives when 'fouled' which prevented him from sprinting back to deal with the counter.

You flatter Vinny way too much for ball control.

As for the rest of it, Guardiola's micro management would have helped Micah, no end.

Micah's never really had defensive minded managers to learn from.

What was 'acceptable' to previous management would not fly with PG.

Your 'point' is hugely redundant in light of PG's desire for control of controllable situations.

My 'point' is valid. We've seen players shipped out and frozen out because of what 'would not fly'.

Had he still been here, Micah would have been one of the first out of the door.

The difference between our points would be that Mr Guardiola is more likely to work to change players approach to their game if they were willing to stay and fight.

Those that have been 'shipped out' lacked fight. Micah always did just that.

Your assumption on PG's theoretical dealing with Micah is flawed.

Just got away with giving away a nailed on penalty for Villa against Wolves. The bloke is finished as a PL quality defender. He struggled badly last season, and is not flavour of the month with Villa fans.

Out of position, tackled from the wrong side - nailed on penalty.

None of our full backs inc Richards fit into peps style. He'll make do as best for now. 'Bonk'
is a under used word that sums our full backs up. All of them.
