Miralem Pjanić

Thinking in another thread about how poorly Edin has been for us compared to what he did at Wolfsburg (watching clips from that time actually makes me sad), Miralem Pjanić came to mind. How is he doing in Rome, anyone knows?

He's still only in his early 20's and has pace, technique and already a lot of experience.
Would he be an option to Hazard? He surely must come a lot cheaper and his former link-up with Edin ought to be very healthy for both of them and the squad.

Yes, you're wrong. From outfield players only De Rossi has more starts than him.

I haven't watched him much, but I have a friend who supports Roma and he's been raving about him quite a lot. I think he plays CM and ACM there so don't know if he's the answer to our winger problem.

Not a winger or even a wide attacking mid ala Nasri for us. He's a Modric type player, a creator in the middle of the park. I've been following Roma a bit since their takeover and their youth project and in the games ive seen Pjanic has been very good. His passing in particular is excellent.

But we don't need him. We need width and pace which he won't provide.

Pjanic has been excellent at Roma, probally their best player actually.

Yup, he played at Lyon b4 a transfer to Rome. He is having very good season, and is regularly starting if not injured. Totti said in some interview he is becoming their best player, but he is not what we need. Prefers to play ATM, not a winger.

Since I work almost 3 year in Bosnia I know some of they players and I asked my neighbor where did this lad playing before, and he looks me with miracle and said Olimpique Lion and now AC Roma. He also tell me he scored a goal against Real Madrid which eliminates Real in CL quarterfinals couple seasons ago. He also tell me that he learned from Juninho Pernambucano - the best free kicker in the world. He never play in Germany. Bosnian player in Germany is Sejad Salihovic - fantastic player (for me - the best bosnaian player - "watching him in qualified games against Turkey", but he is not for us because of his constant "attitude" problem with managers - is short he is smaller Balotelli with bad temper and he is very aggressive often kick other players and even attacking referees.
Miralem is going to Real Madrid next season (Mourinho bought him year ago) so transfer option is 0 for Us even if he is f*** excellent.

He went from Lyon to Roma for a mere €11mil... that's frigging peanuts for someone with his quality and potential.
