Hi bluemooners

I need some proper help on this so any advise from anybôdy who knows what they're talking about would be extremely helpful.

I'm a trucker and I use my phone and it's internet for almost everything. So when I'm away my internet data is used for music, watching films, watching football, betting, doing my betting blog, updating my betting spreadsheets and porn.

I use around 25gig of data a month my mobile phone provider has told me and I'm on a plan where I get unlimited internet (3G).

I have an iPhone 4 and I tether my phone to my laptop so that I can use the unlimited data.

It has been fine for a few years, minimal issues and watching BT Sport, Sky Go or porn has been no issue. However it's now become so slow that it's no longer a reliable option with regards me watching BT Sport, Sky Go or more importantly, porn. I do not know why either and I do not want to be ripped off when I speak to my mobile phone provider.

Is my phone too old? Will a newer phone be better suited to what I need?

Will using a tablet be better than a lap top?

What kind of speeds do I need for doing what I do over mobile internet?

As a trucker I end up parked in random streets and industrial estates across the country. All I want is a phone that'll connect to my laptop and give me reliable enough service to watch and do what I want on the internet over 3G or 4G without the need to use wifi.

I use Microsoft onedrive to store all my spreadsheets etc for my betting and blog and without a decent enough connection, it will not work. Neither does BT Sport, Sky Go or porn.

Any help hugely appreciated.

iPhone 4's dont do 4G, and 4G is a massive improvement over 3G. in a decent signal area you could get 60/70mbs on 4G where as 3G you will probably get 7Mbs. You may have to get a new sim to use 4G anyways though so probably best asking your provider.

You need to upgrade your mob to a 4G device and you should be fine. You've done well to make your iPhone 4 last that long to be fair.

3G is outdated and much like standard definition TV, i think the providers 'dumb' it down.
