Motty retiring at the end of this season... yes !!!

Found the guy totally bias in the city Tottenham replay 81, long memory remember him crucifying Gerry gow but arse licking the scum that Thursday night, never forgiven him like the Tyler, the best out there at the time was Coleman, his highlights commentary of the Everton city cup 1/4 final game 81 at goodison was the best I've ever heard, with his comment it's bedlam around the ground was quite apt

Brian Moore was shockingly bad; frequently professionally negligent and sometimes grossly incompetent.

Motson, for all his faults, usually got his facts straight, and the name of the player correct.

Moore was a complete buffoon.
^^This^^ (I still can't believe we had a minute's silence for him when he died - not because he was a bad commentator more because he wasn't that important).

Brian Clough was a bully whenever he was pissed, which was most of the time, including, and I'm rarely wrong on this particular point, that interview.

He was right about too much football on TV in 1980, however. Anymore and we'll kill the game. Tremendous prescience.

He was a brilliant manager, but a rude cünt.
Agreed.

Quite.
Motson probably should have gone 5 years ago as he's on the decline, but he does at least come over as a football fan who largely says what he sees.

He was always talking about "ironic" events, when he meant "coincidence" . Ironically, Motson didn't know the meaning of the word "irony".
