Anyone seen Gummo? by Harmony Korine?

Easily, the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. I have never felt more anxious or nevous watching anything else. Its a surreal look at American poor white trash in its most vivid form. I think the whole thing is on youtube.....or it used to be.

That's the thing though. There are some really horrifying scenes. But nothing is as bad as your imagniation expects it to be.

The grainy way the movie is filmed, the lighting and the charachters and all of the aesthetics creates anxiety in your mind..but nothing is ever as bad as you think it will be.......having said that its still a really fucked up movie

Remember a mate of mine doing Media Studies at Hopwood Hall. A few of us rented out a house and he had his Saturday afternoon film sessions. I walked in the front room one aft and he had just started watching Double Indemnity. One magic cig later and I was lost in the film. Absolutely brilliant.

Oh, I dunno... Ok, just thinking briefly...

"Grand Canyon" (Great human drama about losing touch)

"The Fly" -1988 (Great transformation, great nutty speeches!)

"The Incredible Shrinking Man" (Awesome special effects for its time)

"Rope" (Severly underrated Hitchcock film. So many nuances and tricky subject!)

"The Fountain" (A brilliantly and beautifully filmed piece of work. The underlying message is very powerful)

bigga is this film a must see ive got it but never got round to watching it???
