The crazy thing is that the NRA will actually make that their argument, because California has stricter gun control, those 4 year olds were oppressed by the man and not allowed to defend themselves

Every time there's a mass shooting, gun sales increase. They have absolutely no interest in reducing mass shootings.

It's bizarre how upset americans get over someone labelled a terrorist killing people and how they willingly let the government push through all manner of evil, bullshit laws to "protect" them from it happening again, but if it's just some angry white guy slaughtering people then that's just the price of freedom and any moves to prevent it happening are met with uproar. Good point. Their first approach to dealing with terrorism would appear to be limiting muslim immigration rather than access to guns.

You can have all the laws you want, if someone wants to get a gun bad enough they will get one, no different than say heroin. The guns rights organizations will argue that all schools should have armed security or better yet a gun in every classroom. Slowly but surely that is already happening therefore you get school districts nation wide buying guns by the hundreds, thousands of rounds of ammo, bullet proof vests, bullet proof glass, and metal detectors. The gun debate in the USA has its own business model.
