Near miss at SF airport

28L was closed for construction with lights off; ACA 759 was cleared 28R but mistook the lighted parallel taxiway to the north of 28R for the actual runway, assuming 28R was 28L. Could have taken out four other planes waiting on the taxiway had they not recognized their mistake last minute. You'd think the lack of approach lights would be an important visual cue as they stretch out into the SF Bay at the end of the 28s for several hundred yards. Plus I'm sure the ATIS noted that 28L was closed.

Would be interested in @ChicagoBlue's take on this.

So, it appears I can't start a thread, but I wanted to share this cool flight path, flown by a couple of Boeing Test Pilots checking out a new 787. They took off and landed at BFI (Boeing Field), just north of Seattle Intl Airport. However, their 8,000+ mile flight path across the USA is fantastic! :-)
