Bale was poor today. Known talent in the Premiership, but maybe he's still getting his fitness back

West Ham played him correctly, i.e. never, ever let him go left. For his sake, he needs to develop his right foot more.

Can't expect Bale to be at his best yet, just like Johnson. I'd have Bale in our team in an instant as an attacking left-back (Alves-esque but on the other side), especially if Mancini persists with two defensive midfielders, one of whom can offer cover when he bombs forward.
