    NAC Breda appear to be 'in the brown and smelly'. Getting battered regularly and look to be going back down................

    The Girona and Breda situations are interesting, I think it's important for the young players just to get exposure. Even if they're losing 3-0 every week but playing regularly against professional teams, they're learning more than playing against other academy teams. It was great to see Foden make an appearance the other night and hopefully there'll be more to come from him and others. I was reading this article last night https://www.otbfootball.net/the-kids-arent-alright/ and it's bang on in terms of the youth systems hindering player development. It's got some interesting points made by Joey Barton and Paul Lake as well which highlight that there's need for change. IIRC Lakey works for PL in an academy liaison type of role now?
