Nothing could be further than the truth than to suggest that Brexit is about shutting ourselves off.

It may suit the remainers to paint us brexiteers as insular, narrow minded and even racist, but brexit is about embracing the future not being stuck with a sclerotic outdated idea of the future (that's the EU in case you're not getting my drift).

Sure, because leaving the EU is just like not joining the Euro, isn't it. Liking your total lack of any logic there mate.

Would that be the insular EU with trade deals with pretty much every country and trading bloc on the planet. We'd be silly to align ourselves with that wouldn't we. What with their dismal 500m people negotiating power. We can do much better on our own with our crappy productivity, lack of investment, antiquated manufacturing - what's left of it. Sure we'd be mad to align ourselves with the biggest market in the world, growing faster than the US and faster than the UK for that matter.

Keep taking the pills mate - they must be good ones.

EDIT, not to mention the 5 year stagnation (at best, probably collapse) caused by actually leaving the EU in the first place.

    More pills please.

Brexit is a closed loop. It removes rights from UK citizens. It puts a border between NI and the Republic. It seeks to cut us off from Europe. You admit it yourself when you say you don't want to be stuck with what you describe as an outdated idea. And how do you do this? By embracing ideas from a previous century.

Brexit is embraced by nationalists, little Englanders and racists. It is defined by the company it keeps. If you are blind to the company Brexit keeps or even comfortable with it then that is your problem not mine.

    Yes, Yes you are. lol

We was talking about clegg "The idea that there's going to be a European air force, a European army, it is simply not true." Nick Clegg, so he lied.

Even though you know the answer to your question I'll answer it.

As in directly employed by the EU then No, you'll need to wait for that joyous occasion.

However there are military personnel deployed around the world paid for and under the control of the eu.

Military personnel under the control of a trading block. History tells us a strong military expands Empires.
