Well, all these constitutional experts (who needs them?) must be right, because wikipedia reckons "The issue of whether the UK Parliament or the European Court of Justice has ultimate sovereignty over European Community laws which apply to the UK is still an area of intense legal debate and conflicting views".

It's simple really. If as a British citizen I lose a rights case, I can go to the ECJ. Without the ECJ I'd be relying on the UK Supreme Court which (e.g.), in its House of Lords days wisdom, decided councils couldn't subsidise fares out of the rates even though UK law specifically said they could. Hence high bus fares.

I thought there would be more discussion on Farage and his '2nd referendum' line.

Dismissed on here as him attention seeking.

I don't think so. Farage is a clever guy and he has an agenda but figuring out his aim is not easy.

I'm not totally convinced that getting out of the EU is his goal. Otherwise he wouldn't be peddling the 2nd referendum line. Maybe he is trying to create maximum tensions and discord in an effort to break our 2 party system. I really don't know.

Farage is an extremely well connected clever guy and there is method to his apparent madness I am sure. I just can't figure out what he is up to. I think the man is playing the public like a fiddle but why and to what end ?

If not 'attention seeking' anyone have any idea ?

nah mate - just desperate attention seeker - got exposure way greater than his party's standing warranted and now see's the absolute joke UKIP now are and is trying hard to keep them relevant and himself in the limelight without actually coming back into frontline politics. Happy to stir the shit but doesn't want to expose himself again to close media scrutiny.
