A bit harsh.
He did, but Bishop became one of the best midfielders of his generation(one the London player of the month twice)and should have been a regular with the England team while at West Ham.
I saw Bish (and Wardy) play a lot at West Ham and both did a good job for the club in different ways. I always thought Bish was under-estimated as a good passer of the ball and a creative talent, although he would accept that he probably should have scored more goals than he did for a player of his ability.
Wardy was much more aggressive, tenacious and it was those assets that Howard Kendall needed urgently to keep City in the top flight when he swapped Mark for Bish/Trevor Morley in December '89.
