Admittedly it's from the Mirror but they claim that there's proposals to shake things up (no doubt something needs to change).

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/new-premier-league-ii-reserves-7569298

The headlines are 5 overage outfield players plus a senior goalie allowed, a full PL sized table to mirror the 1st teams fixtures (how does that work with good academy setups but crap 1st teams?), televised games (hurrah!!!).

They also want to change the U16's & U18's to U17's & U19's respectively.

BPL u21 was also going to be televised. Nothing actually interesting, just 2 mor eoutfield players and the same white level. Inly utd will use the new rules. I don't even doubt a lot that it was their idea to let a couple of more overaged players be on the field. But the resolution of th eproblem would be fitting the reserve sides into the league system like they do it in Spain.

I think that's fair enough tbh if it happens.

Giggs etc have made the point that they learned through playing with & against senior players. But will the highly paid primadonnas of the first teams be willing to take part or will it just be 'kids' who aren't good enough at 22, like the rags' team ?
