Just started to listen to the new album of the Bad Seeds after the young guns basically sealed our victory against Celtic, and fuck me, I shouldn't have done this as it won't be that easy now to get in the mood of our CL game tonight.

I mean, it's great that the bottle of wine is slowly being consumed, but if you know the circumstances (the death of his 15 year old son, one of the twins) and have your headset on, it's just massive and haunting and gets you down.

Some literature to it but if you are into Nick's (or Warren Ellis') works, it is a must really.

Tried to listen to it last week, but it's certainly something (as you've alluded to above) that needs to be listened to in the quiet confines with some alcohol. Especially given the tragic death of his son. I'll give it a go on Sunday afternoon, maybe with the headphones on, and a few glasses of Monkey Shoulder.

not his best work by a long shot - it sounds like a movie soundtrack with some vocals over it - some songs, eg I Need You, are beautiful but very very sad whilst a couple of others are a bit samey - still a very good album but not great
